How I got here
For a long time, I thought I was doing everything right. I was a health coach. I ate a healthy diet and exercised regularly. By all accounts I was "healthy".
From what felt like out of nowhere, I developed Panic disorder and Generalized Anxiety disorder. This flipped my life upside-down. I was having multiple panic attacks a day, had no appetite and didn't feel safe in my own body. After seeing a therapist bi-weekly for a year and not seeing any improvement in relaxing my nervous system, the therapist suggested I look into medication even though they knew I was against it. I recall considering it, thinking "Maybe I do need to start taking something" as I was tired of living my life breath by breath.
In my search for another answer, I came across a functional health practitioner who was discussing the connection between mental health and hormone/gut imbalances. It was the first time I had heard someone talk about health in this way. It gave me hope.
I decided to work with her weekly for 12 months. During that time, I could slowly feel the lights turning back on.
This experience completely changed the way I look at health and how I live my life today. Now, I look forward to empowering you in similar ways. It's why I became a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner.
